CBFA CC-Link Driver in Tire Building Machines

The tire building machine is a key application area for Mitsubishi Electric, with many leading tire manufacturers worldwide utilizing Mitsubishi's control systems. Prior to the use of the CBFA-T stepper controller, this industry's cutting knife station typically relied on Mitsubishi positioning modules combined with pulse stepper control. This approach not only incurred high costs for the positioning modules but also resulted in complex wiring between the modules and stepper controllers, along with limited anti-interference capability.

This equipment utilizes Mitsubishi's R-series PLC and employs five CBFA-T controllers to control the cutting knives. The drivers operate at 2000 micro-steps, with 57-series motors driving ball screws with a 20mm lead for linear motion. The software integrates PLC-OPEN standard motion control function blocks, simplifying the debugging process.
